Welcome to the FAQ page for the Professional Speech and Debate Association (PSDA). Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our classes, tournaments, and policies. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out to us at admin@prosda.com.

1. What does the PSDA offer?

PSDA offers accessible, online public speaking and debate programs for adults (18+), including:

  • 4-week Bootcamps for beginners

  • Ongoing Speech & Debate Clubs for continued skill-building

  • Quarterly Online Tournaments open to all experience levels

We welcome both brand-new and returning competitors.

2. What events are offered in tournaments?

Our tournaments include four exciting events:

  • Prepared Speech (persuasive/informative speaking)

  • Prepared Acting (dramatic or humorous interpretation)

  • Spontaneous Speech (impromptu speaking)

  • Spontaneous Debate (1-on-1, quick prep debates)

Participants may enter multiple events in a single tournament.

3. What is your refund policy?

  • Full Refund: Available up to 7 days before the first class

  • 50% Refund: Available until 24 hours before the second class

  • No Refunds: After that point, though we’re happy to transfer your registration to a future class or tournament

If PSDA cancels a class or event, you’ll receive a full refund automatically.

4. What if I miss a class?

No problem! All sessions are recorded, and a link will be emailed to you within 1–2 days so you can catch up on your own schedule.

5. How much do classes and tournaments cost?

  • Bootcamps (4-week course): $155

  • PSDA Membership: $95/month — includes weekly Speech & Debate Club access and unlimited tournament entries

  • Tournaments (à la carte): $40 per event (judging included — no judge needed from you)

6. When and where are classes held?

All PSDA offerings are fully online via Zoom.

  • Bootcamps typically meet Sunday mornings or Monday evenings for 2 hours

  • Speech & Debate Club meets on Saturday and Sunday afternoons

  • Tournaments are held quarterly on Saturdays via forensicstournament.net
